How does it work?
Sonneblom Foundation NPC creates awareness of FREE teenage suicide prevention services and assists children in the service of the counsellors manning these crisis lines.
Besides the expenses incurred for printing flyers as part of our awareness campaigns, travelling and accommodation, we also have recurring operational costs, such as banking and accounting fees, and administrative fees.
We would appreciate it if you could sponsor at least one block below, more if you wish. We will give you recognition, or you may stay anonymous – we will respect that wish.
- We see how quickly we can fill 100 lines with committed donations via Payfast at a donation of R25 per month per line.
- We ask you to share the details and link to Payfast so we can reach as many donors as possible.
- Credit is given to donors (their name or the name of their company, plus the city or town they are from), OR donors may stay anonymous if they wish.
- Each Payfast donation is linked to an email address or telephone number, and we will reach out to the donors to gather their information and publish it if the donors wish to do so.
How does Payfast work?
- Payfast is a secure online payment system that Sonneblom Foundation uses to collect donations. It can be single amounts, or recurring amounts – Payfast refers to recurring amounts as subscriptions.
- Sonneblom Foundation uses the recurring fees function to collect set amounts from donors. This help is to know that we can cover our monthly operational costs, and can continue our work to create awareness of teenage suicide prevention services.
- Monthly fees are recovered each month from the same amount your initial donation was made, and also on the same day, for example, if you paid R25 on the 15th of the month, the next payment will be recovered on the 15th of next month. We, unfortunately are not sure about payments made on the 29th to 31st of months, and with months following with fewer days, we want to assume payment will occur on the last day of the month following.
- Upon request, we can edit the day of the month of the recurring payment and move it to a day that will suit you better, for example, after your payday on e.g. the 16th, 26th, or 1st of each month.
- Payments usually fail when your card has expired, or you had to block your card because of theft or fraud. In that case, you can
- either request a new payment request from us,
- use the link above to start a new payment, or log into payfast with the email you used when you made your payment before the time when you received your replacement card, and update your card details. Sonneblom Foundation does not have the details, and never will have the details of your card, and we unfortunately cannot update card details on your behalf, or
- in the case of insufficient funds (we know, life happens!), you can simply top up your card with funds. payfast will attempt to recover the amount for about five days in a row, after which it will cancel the transaction. When this happens, please see the two steps above.

General Donations
General donations are always welcome. We undertake to allocate those resources to our project with the highest need.
Your donation may be utilised to assist a child in need, cover our monthly operational costs, and build up much-needed reserves that will enable us to act immediately on requests for assistance.
Our directors will always take requests from our beneficiaries into consideration, while at the same time ensuring the stability and operational status of the Sonneblom Foundation to ensure it will continue to serve the teenagers it was brought to life for.

International Donors
We understand that banking fees are high for international transactions. We encourage you to use the Payfast options we offer below. It will save you from paying high banking transaction fees, and we will carry minimal fees on our side.
South African Donors
We recommend you donate in the way that is easiest for you. Some people prefer EFT, some are comfortable with Payfast. We prefer not to receive cash donations as they carry a large fee for us. However, if you had a lucky night at the casino or a day at the race course, you are welcome to share your cash winnings with us!
