As with any non-profit not receiving government funding, we rely on the public and corporations to assist us in doing our work.
We need monthly monetary contributions to provide immediate and urgent support to children in the service of our counsellors. without the need to wait for contributions that may or may not arrive when requested, which hampers our urgent help to children. We also need regular donations to cover monthly expenses, for example, accounting fees, banking fees, and repayment of loans. Then we also need regular donations to cover shipping expenses when shipping items to children in need.
Sponsorships to help us spread awareness and reach out always are a blessing we appreciate.
In addition to that, we also count on donated items to see to the needs of children in service, and also some of our additional collaborators, where we can help them.
Below are more details of our requirements, either financially or in items we can distribute. We will continue to add to these requirements as time progresses:
Our Beneficiaries and Collaborators
These are the organisations we support and collaborate with.
1. United for Change (UFC)
UFC is managed by Johannes C. Wolfaardt and operates from Bloemfontein. UFC covers a large range of services, including faith-based counselling, human trafficking, gender-based violence, and other topics. The Sonneblom Foundation provides the same services to children in free counselling with UFC as children in free counselling with ADSP. Johannes C. Wolfaardt is also an ambassador for Sonneblom Foundation. You may read more about UFC at https://unitedforchange.org.za/.
2. Addict’s Voice (AV)
AV is an NPO operated by Evette Kruger, and they are active in Gauteng and Limpopo, with the hope of expanding to other regions when the time is right. They are faith-based and work with drug addicts, reaching out to them in the streets. They also recently started a program called “Be the Reason, Be the Voice”, where they address learners at schools and address topics like bullying. AV helps the Sonneblom Foundation create awareness of free suicide prevention programs available to teenagers during presentations at schools. You may read more about AV at https://addictsvoice.co.za/. You may also visit their Facebook page.
